Learning & Experience Apprenticeship Program
The Learning & Experience Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) is Parkland’s latest effort to support members of the Dallas County community.
LEAP educates and empowers low to moderate income Dallas County young people through a year-long apprenticeship with clinical training for the Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
The program offers a dynamic, professional experience, featuring hands-on work with a Workforce Development Mentor and Clinical Coach from Parkland. Participants are provided a comprehensive individual development plan that includes clinical projects, intensive reading on relevant subject matter and collaboration with experienced leaders in the healthcare industry. LEAP is an outstanding first step for anyone interested in working in healthcare!
Along with this top-of-the-line professional education, the program also offers the following benefits and compensation to apprentices:
- Patient Care Technician certification training
- Full-time position with competitive pay at $18.25/hour
- Nights and weekend differential pay
- Paid time off

- Tuition reimbursement
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements listed below to be considered for this program:
- A resident of Dallas County
- Interest in the healthcare field
