LEED ® Certification

Parkland Memorial Hospital

Parkland Memorial Hospital was designed to be a good steward of the earth and taxpayers’ resources. To that end, the new hospital obtained a LEED® Gold certification(1) for New Construction, which attests that the new building achieves high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. The LEED certification system comes from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which offers four certification levels for new buildings — Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum — that correspond to the number of credits accrued in five sustainable design categories. Tower Garage

The Tower parking garage on the campus of new Parkland hospital was awarded the LEED Gold Certification for Core and Shell Development in 2013. The garage uses LED lighting and a 32kW photovoltaic solar panel system. Learn more about the Tower Garage earned LEED Gold Certification.

WISH Clinic

The Women & Infants Specialty Health (WISH) Clinic was awarded the LEED Gold Certification for Commercial Interiors in 2015. Among the features recognized in the certification are the low-emitting materials including adhesives, paint, flooring, wood and furniture, as well as the use of regional materials, energy and water efficiency, and the clinic’s connectivity to public transportation. Central Utility Plant

Parkland’s Central Utility Plant (CUP) was awarded LEED Gold Certification for New Construction in 2017. Highlights of the project include implementation of energy efficient aspects such as a heat pump chiller and demand flow programming.

Ron J. Anderson Clinic

The new Ron J. Anderson, MD Clinic was awarded the LEED® Gold Certification for Commercial Interiors in 2019. Amongst other criteria, it was recognized for its access to public transport and connectivity to the local community as well as its innovative building design. Moody Clinic
