Ambulatory (PGY2)
Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program focuses on the development and management of a clinical practice in various ambulatory care settings. Emphasis is on application of clinical skills to enhance multidisciplinary and pharmacist-managed patient care.
As a PGY2 resident, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the following clinics: internal medicine, Community Oriented Primary Care centers, HIV, oncology, anticoagulation, cardiology, lipid and pain.
You will participate in precepting PharmD students and PGY1 pharmacy residents. You will also complete a major project to be presented at an annual resident conference and state meeting. A full service medical library and a drug information center are available on the main campus.
Rotations
- Ambulatory Care Blocks: All clinics have a clinical pharmacy specialist offering clinical services that encompass the majority of the core disease state managements.
- Elective Options: These clinics have a clinical pharmacy specialist, clinical staff pharmacist, or mid-level practitioner specialized in their specific disease state management.
PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Application Process
To apply, please submit all items via PhORCAS:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States at time of selection
- Curriculum Vitae
- A one-page, double-spaced letter of intent. The letter should include why you would like to pursue a residency at Parkland and how both you and Parkland will benefit from the residency.
- Three completed references using standard PhORCAS template
- Copy of official pharmacy school transcripts
Application Deadline: January 2
Applications will be evaluated by members of the Residency Advisory Council. Candidates will be contacted via phone, as needed. On-site interviews are held during February. All on-site candidates will prepare a
20-minute presentation on a topic of their choice for members of our Residency Advisory Council.
