PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency with MBA
The PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership (HSPAL) Residency program is a 24-month PGY1 and PGY2 training program centered on the development of the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to lead the profession of pharmacy into the future. A Master of Business Administration degree will be obtained concurrent with the residency through the University of Dallas.
Pharmacists completing the residency will be competent and confident leaders in multiple practice areas and will be prepared to step into a health-system pharmacy leadership position upon completion.
Coursework topics will include organizational development, leadership development, managerial/health care finance, professional development, strategic planning, operations and marketing. Administrative rotations at the hospital will provide the resident with useful experiences in applying the principles learned through didactic training. The resident will also complete two major projects, one each year, to be presented at an annual resident conference or pharmacy meeting.
