High School Summer Internship Program
The Workforce Development High School Summer Internship Program is an eight-week, paid summer internship program that introduces Dallas high school students to careers and employment opportunities in the healthcare industry. This program, launched by Parkland’s Workforce Development department prepares motivated students to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Participants will receive first-hand experience in a non-clinical professional environment to help prepare them for their future career interests, allowing for an invaluable educational opportunity.
Eligibility Requirements
- Junior or Senior attending a public high school in the Dallas Fort Worth are eligible to apply.
- Be at least 16 years of age prior to start date of the program.
- Must have a career goal of becoming a healthcare professional in either a clinical or administrative capacity.
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must be able to fulfill an 8-week commitment.
Application Guidelines
All documents must be typed and uploaded to your online application to be considered for the internship program:
- Complete the appropriate online application.
- Upload your resume in your online application under "Upload Your Resume."
- Carefully read the Program Agreement. If you agree with all the terms, you must sign and date at the bottom and upload to your online application packet under "Upload Other Documents."
- Obtain your unofficial high school transcripts, scanned front and back, and upload in your online application under "Upload Other Documents."
