Refilling prescriptions by phone

To refill your prescription by phone, simply call the phone number on your prescription label. Be sure to locate your prescription number (nine digits on the label). Please call seven days before you run out of your medicines. You can call the number on the label for a refill 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If the refill line is busy, please call back.

How to order your prescription by phone

  1. Call the phone number on your prescription label. Please listen to the prompts. The first option is to order your medication via mail order. If you do not wish to get your medication through mail order do NOT pick that option. Continue to listen to the prompts to order your medication for pickup at the pharmacy.
  2. You will need the “RX” number on the label. It is nine numbers long. You will be asked to punch in this number from your phone.
  3. Prescriptions called in by noon will be ready for pick up the next business day after 1 p.m.

Getting a new prescription filled at Parkland main campus

You have two locations to choose from:
  • The Ron J. Anderson, MD Clinic at 5184 Tex Oak Ave.
  • The Moody Outpatient Clinic Pharmacy at 5151 Maple Ave.

If you have no refills left and you receive your prescriptions from a Parkland pharmacy

  1. Check the medicine’s label to see if you have refills left.
  2. If you do not have refills left, you may ask for refills by telephone (use the number on your bottle) or by MyChart. We will contact your physician to request a new prescription. If you get your medicines from a pharmacy outside of Parkland, please contact that pharmacy to request refills or send a message to your physician via MyChart with the name of the medicine you need along with the name and location of the pharmacy you want it sent to.
  3. Call at least seven days before you run out of your medicines.
  4. The pharmacy will call your doctor for a new prescription. This can take up to three weekdays, so please plan ahead.
  5. Do not call the doctor yourself or go to your doctor’s office to ask for a refill. The pharmacy staff will do this for you.
  6. Refill status can also by checked in MyChart.
  7. If the doctor says it is not okay to give you a new prescription, the message you hear on the phone will still say that your medicine is not ready. Press option five to talk to a person for help.
  8. If you have no refills left and you receive your prescriptions from a non-Parkland Pharmacy. Please contact the pharmacy that you receive your prescriptions and request a refill through that location. You may also send a message via MyChart to your provider requesting a new prescription be sent to that pharmacy.
