Marcella Robinson is walking again

Thanks to Parkland’s trauma, orthopaedics and physical therapy teams, Marcella Robinson walked out of the hospital on her own two feet seven months after being rushed by ambulance from a serious car wreck.

Emergency personnel worked tirelessly to cut her out of the wreckage and rushed her to Parkland’s renowned trauma center with a collapsed lung, two fractures of her spinal cord and five breaks to various bones in her legs. Every second was critical to her survival.

She underwent four surgeries and spent a month in the hospital to recover. With the help of her physical therapy team, she slowly re-learned how to walk. After seven month of hard work and pain, Marcella was ready to “graduate” from Parkland’s physical therapy program, she says.

“I was wheeled into the hospital and thanks to God, Parkland and their physical therapy team, I walked out!”
