Lower your risk of STDs

STDs or sexually transmitted diseases are usually spread through sexual contact. STDs are serious diseases that need treatment.  Follow these tips to protect yourself and others:

• The best way to prevent getting an STD is to not have any type of sex.
• Stay sexually active with only one person who has agreed to also be sexually active only with you. 
• Make sure you and your partner get tested and share your test results with each other.
• Decrease your number of sex partners.
• Use a condom every time you have sex. 
• Get vaccines for hepatitis B and HPV.
• Ask your doctor to test you for STDs.
