Epilepsy Outreach
Parkland’s Epilepsy Outreach program cares for Dallas County residents age 18 years and older with limited income and no insurance. We temporarily accept Medicare and some forms of Medicaid until patients find permanent care.
As a patient in the Epilepsy Outreach program, you will have access to a nursing or medical assessment, medication management, lab work and test referrals, such as an MRI. Additionally, we can help with tests to diagnose or confirm epilepsy or place you in Parkland’s epilepsy monitoring unit. We can also connect you with one of our medication access specialists who can help you get medications.
Our social worker can help address any concerns or life needs related to epilepsy care and treatment. We also provide free translation series and resources to help patients who are deaf or have difficulty hearing.
Becoming a patient
To become a patient in our Epilepsy Outreach program, you must be referred by a Parkland doctor through one of our community clinics, the main Emergency Department or the Urgent Care Emergency Department.
