Time is running out for Health Insurance Marketplace 2025 enrollment
January 15 is the last day to enroll
You can still get health insurance for the new year on the federal health insurance marketplace, but the open enrollment period ends on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Created by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Marketplace allows you to search for health coverage options and choose from plans available in your area. It will also tell you if you or your family members qualify for coverage through Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
The best source for information about the Marketplace is www.healthcare.gov. The website is available 24/7 and provides information on how the Marketplace works, its benefits and key deadlines. You can also call 1-800-318-2596 to speak with trained customer service representatives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you need further assistance, Parkland Health offers support through certified application counselors. Counselors are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Parkland’s Financial Services Office, located at 2021 Medical District Drive, Dallas, TX 75235, on the street level of the Parkland Tower Garage.
“Enrolling in health insurance can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to guide individuals through the process,” said Bethanne Keating, Parkland’s Director of Patient Access. “While we can’t choose a plan for them, we can provide information about which plans Parkland accepts and assist with navigating the website or hotline.”
In partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Parkland has also trained healthcare navigators for ACA enrollment at community partners Community Council of Greater Dallas, Los Barrios Unidos Health Clinic and PrismHealth North Texas, among others.
If you miss the 2025 open enrollment period and do not qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP), you will have to wait until open enrollment begins for 2026. Additional information on exemptions is available at www.healthcare.gov.
